Sustainability in Allegheny County
Jeaneen Zappa will be discussing how Allegheny County is transforming itself to embrace sustainability in all it does – from leadership activities like putting a green roof on the County Office Building roof to department approaches that incorporate sustainability like the Allegheny Together program, to a significant energy-saving project addressing the county’s largest properties.
Jeaneen Zappa serves as the first Sustainability Manager for Allegheny County, a role in which she is responsible for helping the County to identify priorities and contribute to organization-wide strategies related to greener purchasing, energy reduction, greenhouse gas inventorying, recycling, waste water issues and community outreach.
