Power Systems Experience Center

Tour

The Power Systems Experience Center is a fully equipped, 10,000-square-foot demonstration and test facility and laboratory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It offers a wide range of demonstrations in a safe, controlled environment.

See demonstrations of power quality problems The center demonstrates more than 35 typical power quality problems such as voltage disturbances and harmonic issues. Fully monitored systems let you watch the effects of power quality problems as they happen.

See power quality tools and solutions in action The center also demonstrates power quality and energy management tools featuring our Power Xpert® architecture. The facility showcases Eaton PowerChain Management® solutions, from lighting control to variable frequency drives and Power Xpert meters. Visitors can witness a complete array of Eaton's electrical power systems solutions in one place. The center isn’t limited to Eaton equipment. You can see and test solutions from many different manufacturers.

Evaluate energy-saving devices The center can help you evaluate energy-saving devices with live tests on a real power system. You decide what you want to test, and our highly accurate Power Xpert meters track energy use during the test.

That gives you the data you need to calculate what your savings will truly be. You don’t have to rely on manufacturers’ confusing sales claims.

Test products At the center, your staff can get hands-on experience with Eaton equipment you’re thinking of buying. Or you can request formal product testing for a specific product in our laboratory facilities with access to all of the industry accepted instrumentation including our own Power Xpert, Fluke™, Dranetz™, etc.

Train your employees The center offers a wide range of formal CEU certified training classes for you or your employees. Classes are available in equipment operations, power systems analysis, use of power quality instrumentation, and safety procedures. What makes the Power System Experience Center a unique training facility is that we are able to run demonstrations that illustrate and reinforce the classroom topics. Demonstrations are conducted on a full-scale power system in six typical operating environments:

• Commercial power system

• Industrial power system

• Residential power system

• Industrial training lab

• Data center power system

• Generator and special test area

Meet Eaton experts The center is staffed by experienced Eaton employees. Specialists in the topics you’re interested in are available for consultation before, during and after your visit 4 Eaton corporation Power Systems Experience Center.
